2011年5月5日、マハラージは仙台の被災地に訪れました。

Part 1

カイラスの仙台講習会の特別ゲストとして、スワーミーは「内なる平安」について講話をされました。参加者はヨーガのインストラクターも含め約30人でした。

Part 2

マハラージは、被災地の状態をリサーチするため、江ノ島龍口寺在住の鈴木法拳氏のご紹介で、仙台在住の僧侶である黒須大仙師、三浦錬浄師とともに、東日本大震災の今後必要な支援について話し合いました。

Lecture at Yoga School Kailas Lesson in Sendai

On 5 May 2011, Swami Medhasananda went to Sendai, the city damaged by the recent Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster. Swami visited the Yoga School Kailas in Sendai City and gave a talk on “Inner Peace” as a special guest speaker for the yoga session. Approximately 30 people, including the yoga instructor(s), attended.

As part of his efforts to assess the damage in the area, Swami met with resident Buddhist monks, Daisen Kurosu and Renjo Miura, in Sendai on referral from Hoken Suzuki, a monk at Ryukoji, Enoshima, and friend of the Vedanta Society of Japan. He discussed with the local monks the emergency needs of those most adversely affected by the earthquake and tsunami and support the Society could provide.

☆シュリー・ラーマクリシュナ聖誕祭（3月20日）

逗子協会において、シュリー・ラーマクリシュナ聖誕祭が行われました。今回は、日本に莫大な被害をもたらした「東日本大震災」を考慮し、震災に遭われた方々への祈りを含め、慎ましやかに行いました。

インド暦でシュリー・ラーマクリシュナのお誕生日でしたので、協会では朝6時から特別なマンガラ・アラティ（朝の礼拝）を行いました。参加者は8名。

☆タゴール生誕150周年記念講話会（2月12日）

Tagore 150th Birth Anniversary Lecture (12th Feb.)　

横浜美術館において、原三溪市民研究会主催による「タゴール生誕１５０年記念講和会」が行われ、50名の方々が参加されました。第１部は、スワーミー・メーダサーナンダジの講話で、スワーミー・ヴィヴェーカーナンダの日本とのつながり、そしてタゴールと天心とのつながりなどを、とてもわかりやすい日本語で私たちに伝えてくださいました。第２部は、荒井寛方のお孫さん　河合力様にお話しいただき、また、岡倉天心のやしゃごの岡倉登志先生もご参加くださるといる大変記念すべきものになりました。

☆高校生のヴェーダーンタ協会訪問（2月7日）　

High school student's Vedanta Kyokai visit (7th Feb.)

横浜のある高校生達が、先生の引率の元、ヴェーダーンタ協会を訪れました。この学校では授業の一環として奉仕活動をされており、ヴェーダーンタ協会のナーラーヤン奉仕の時にマハーラージに出会い、今回の訪問に至りました。この日マハーラージは、皆さんのためにアーウルヴェーダやインドについて、楽しくわかりやすい講義をされ、その後、信者のソフィアさんが作られたインド料理とお茶をご馳走し、皆さん楽しいひと時を過ごされたようでした。
